German light cruiser from World War II, the third cruiser bearing the name, after the war serving in the Navy from 1946-1959 in the USSR under the name of Admiral Makarov. Af ter construction of the light cruiser Leipzig in Germany a few years there has been a break in the construction of ships of this class. Finally, in 1933, Germany decided to build again, the sixth light cruiser. Previously built ships were not entirely satisfactory, but since class light cruisers were at that time in Germany underestimated in favor of heavier ships, because, in spite of the gradual shift from compliance with the Treaty of Versailles, it decides to develop a new, bigger and more refined design.
